Embed images in Gmail

This is an easy way to embed images in Gmail. Embedded images are displayed when an email is opened, where as an attached image has to be downloaded first.

First thing you have to do is to make your image available online. You can use popular image sharing sites suck as Imageshack or Photobucket. Get the direct link of the image and paste it in your broswer. Now drag your mouse over the image so that you have selected it. You will notice the image has become a little darker if you have selected it correctly. Now open Gmail and compose a new message. Make sure you are using RICH FORMATTING instead of PLAIN TEXT. Now paste the image in your email. You can try sending an email to yourself to test it out, but I have done this several times with success.
